Optical Illusion Vase
A white, purple, grey and clear striped vase made using 1mm stringers. The white, purple and grey stringers are alternated with clear stringers and the striped pattern distorted resulting in an optical lensed glass effect. The flat blank is then sagged through a ceramic ring in the kiln until it reaches the kiln shelf to produce a drop vase with a flat base. After the frame is removed by hand, the rim is polished.
